The 1000 Islands Kayaking Company is pleased to announce the launch of our 2008 summer Active Kids Kayaking Camp! With the beautiful Ivy Lea Park as a backdrop and conveniently located along the 1000 Islands Parkway, we are hosting high calibre outdoor education programs for youth ages 8 – 16. Our instructors are fully certified and are professionals in experiential outdoor programming. Your children will learn tons about water safety, boat control, local ecological issues, and paddle away with self-confidence to approach life with an active and healthy attitude!
Discovery Kayak Program,
Ages 8 – 12
The Discovery Kayak Program is all about engaging with the outdoors in a fun and positive way! We play in the kayaks for half a day, learning experientially about boat control, self and partner rescues, safety equipment and engage the children for the remainder of the day in nature based programming. This program will set a solid foundation for children wanting to engage more in outdoor activities that are healthy for both their spirit and the environment.
Fee $199 (includes all necessary equipment) plus GST (5%) for full day (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.)

Adventure Kayak Program
Ages 12 – 16
The Adventure Kayak program is designed to facilitate independence and good judgement within the sport of kayaking. Students will go through a nationally recognized certification course over the five days of paddling and have the opportunity to explore several kayaking routes in our area! Here we focus on setting students up for a successful lifestyle that is active and engaging with the outdoors. They will have the skill to start making critical decisions about safety and develop an appreciation for the beautiful ecology within St. Lawrence Islands National Park of Canada and the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve.
